Boy, I hope they have a better justification
According to this article in the Christian Science Monitor, hawkish types are figuring an attack on Iran is less likely right now, mainly because they figure the sanctions will be effective in getting Tehran to give up its nuclear program. (Where were these folks back in 1990, I ask you?)
But check out this nibblet of logic:
"If Bush attacked Iran tomorrow, the great majority of Americans would think he was nuts,'' Patrick Clawson, deputy director for the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, said last week at a conference in Washington on America's options with Iran.
um...
uh...
Jeez-us, let's face it - if we're supposed to rely on Bush not wanting us to think he's nuttier than a Peanut Buster Parfait as a reason for not attacking Iran, we're in deep kaka, kids.
