Wuh- bluh- hamina hamina
I realize I'm (as usual) late to the party, but here's about as far as I got into this article/"blog" about race and the media on FAUX News.com before my brain went on sit-down strike:
Some elements of the media began to stir the pot. With dubious intentions, Media Matters and its followers worked overtime to turn Bill O’Reilly’s constructive radio conversation about the state of racial prejudice in America into a subconscious revelation of his own bigotry against blacks.
"constructive radio conversation about the state of racial prejudice in America"? THE HELL?
What, Father Jonathan, you mean this "constructive conversation"?
And I couldn't get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia's restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it's run by blacks, primarily black patronship.
SWEET JESUS ON SODA CRACKERS, you mean Bill O' Reilly expressing surprise that *ahem* those people can put on suits and sit down in a fancy restaurant and it doesn't turn into some kind of crazy scene from a "Friday" movie with Ice Cube threatening a waiter with a sideways-turned gun for suggesting he might want a '43 Merlot instead of a Colt 45 malt liquor is, get this, a "CONSTRUCTIVE CONVERSATION"?
I can just see it now - "Well, Juan! Nobody had bones through their noses and ate human flesh, either, and that surprised me as well! And the women wore clothes - nothing like those issues of National Geographic I used to read!"
I - uh - hammana hammana -
What, in the name of all that's holy, or as holy as things get among right-wingers these days, is "constructive" about talking about black people NOT being stereotypes as being a "surprise"? I mean, would he be "surprised" if he went to visit former AG Gonzalez and DIDN'T find Abu's front yard full of wrecked cars? Would he be "surprised" if Sec. of Labor Chao's family DIDN'T run around in big conical hats and practice marital arts while a certain musical theme played in the background?
Defending this kind of paleolithic crap? Now, THAT'S surprising.
