REMEMBER BOSTON!!!11ONE

Well, the Terrible Boston Mooninite Terror Dry Run is over, and there's a fair

summary of the reaction from the  extremes of the Fightin' 101st Keyboarders
here
suffice to say they
did not fail those of us who fully expected them to take a pretty much
innocent
situation and turn it into wild specualtion about Islamofascists and SEEKRIT

PLOTS and anarchists and all that twaddle.

One thing I don't think I've seen addressed, though, and that's the fact that Boston was
not the only target for this ad campaign; I believe ten cities are involved and Boston was
the only one where a big deal was made over the signs that were installed, TWO WEEKS
after the installation.

Point is, for all the billions dumped into Fatherland Security over the last five years, and the continuing growth of the new American Surveillance State, people were able to move through some of the largest cities in the country, install electronic devices in supposedly sensitive locations, and leave them there for a fortnight. Which brings up questions, in my mind at least, about how "safe" Bush and the Repugs are ACTUALLY keeping us.

The "I broke it, now tell me why you won't buy it" strategy

Bush: If you don't like my Iraq plan, tell me yours

"We have a new strategy with a new mission: Helping secure the population, especially in Baghdad," Bush said in his weekly radio address. "Our plan puts Iraqis in the lead."

And thus we return to the "they stand up, we stand down" rhetoric of last year, and the fact that we're sending more than 20,000 new soldiers to Iraq just goes to show how well THAT's been working.

But just to show I'm not all talk and no strategery, here's my plan for the "plus up" or "surge" or "warblogger Cialis" or whatever brand name they're giving it now: Round up every damn mouthbreather who STILL even now thinks Iraq had something to do with 9/11, and/or is still convinced Saddam moved the nukes to Syria, and/or thinks bin Laden is hiding out in Iraq, and/or thinks we should have been "tougher" to start with, suit them up in BDAs, hand their asses a rifle and airdrop them into the middle of the Green Zone, where they can at least do a little bit of good for once in this massive CF they're so damn willing to forgive Bush for.

Just a suggestion.

They're doing WHAT now?

Bush signing may mean government can read your mail

So now merely tapping phone calls and intercepting e-mails isn't giving them a big enough police state stiffy, now they're going to be reading our mail as well? The HELL?

So we're now to believe in this e-world of THE FUTURE with instant messaging and cell phones and the Intertubes and all that, that the BAD BAD people are going to be sending letters by snail-mail?

The full signing statement said:

"The executive branch shall construe subsection 404(c) of title 39, as enacted by subsection 1010(e) of the act, which provides for opening of an item of a class of mail otherwise sealed against inspection, in a manner consistent, to the maximum extent permissible, with the need to conduct searches in exigent circumstances, such as to protect human life and safety against hazardous materials, and the need for physical searches specifically authorized by law for foreign intelligence collection.

Yeah, well, jee-zus, we've seen already how careful and responsible they've been with the "information gathering" they've already been doing, what with spying on lil' grey grannies and vegans and Catholics. I don't know WHY this should bother me.

Frog, meet slowly heating water...
