So Obama HOOOOOSEEEEIIIIINNNN isn't a Muslim - well, he spent his childhood around them, so he caught Muslimness and is damaged merchandise:

Barack Obama is a "political Muslim" who, as a child, was "immersed in a culture that was anti-American." She also stated that "Obama was influenced by" Islam, which she called "a very political" and "not a true religion."

This goes right back to what I've dealt with before; folks who seem to believe that "Islam" is something you can be infected with, a hideous disease that disfigures the soul, leaves one with a hatred of America, blue skies, and lil' fuzzy kittens , and inevitably leads to a firey suicidal terrorist death.

They honestly believe that. This is the kind of attitude that fueled the worst excesses of the Red Purges, the fearful Fifties and the McCarthy era. These are the concepts that destroyed families, careers and lives - sometimes literally.

It was, after all, enough to have had contact with Communists, or Communist ideas - a mere exposure metastasizing into a whole-hearted belief in Communism, a devotion to violent overthrow of Western governments and democracy, and a soulless slavery to the dark masters of Moscow. (And, in fact, here's a geenoyus who would like to see a return of HUAAC and McCarthy - applied, of course, to Islam this time.)

It's bad enough idiots want to drag us into another Cold War. We don't need to repeat the witchhunts on top of everything.
