WIMPS. Just freakin' WIMPS.

The mighty GOP labored unto these many weeks and hath brought forth a soggy slice of milquetoast:

OXON HILL, Maryland (CNN) — The Republican National Committee on Wednesday approved a resolution calling on the Democratic Party to "stop pushing our country towards socialism and governmental control."

The wording of the resolution was tweaked to strike controversial wording that would have called on Democrats to rename themselves the "Democrat Socialist party." That proposal was criticized by some members of the RNC, including party chairman Michael Steele, as embarrassing and counterproductive.

Christ, yeah, why not save the "embarrassing & counterproductive" for 2012, after all? Palin/Bachmann 2012! This is, mind you, the same GOP who so recently went ballistic with tea bags so effectively that the American people were almost distracted for a moment, so I don't know why they'd be concerned about embarrassment now.
The resolution noted that RNC members defined socialism according to its definition in the American Heritage Dictionary.

'Cause after all there's nothing more constructive than defining someone's political position by using the dictionary definition.
Of course, the American Heritage dictionary also says this:
Democratic Party

NOUN: One of the two major political parties in the United States, owing its origin to a split in the Democratic-Republican Party under Andrew Jackson in 1828.

Huh. Well, consistency is the yadda yadda, after all.
